Solving the traffic gridlock at Rumuokoro roundabout
Rumuokoro is a very important junction in Port Harcourt city. This junction connects the East-West road to northern and southern portions of Ikwerre road and many other parts of the city. There has always been a congestion of vehicles trying to link several areas through Rumuokoro, and the experience is not always funny. The activities of both transport operators who brazenly flaunt the laws and load their vehicles along the road, and petty traders who set up mini shops all around the road both constitute a choke on this road. So, how can the state government under Nyesom Wike succeed in winning this traffic fight?
Suggestions like a new flyover has been muted, as well as the ongoing demolition of petty traders shops, but we need more action to be taken to rid this place of long vehicle queues and its attendant delays to human and materials movement.
