Pictures of New ICT centre built for students of ESUT Enugu state

Information and communication technology is an important aspect in the education of the youths today. This is why the management of ESUT in Agbani built this center for the use of students in the school, this is a step in the right direction. We also need the government to think of setting up smaller versions of these schools in secondary schools. It is always better to start early to learn about communication technology.

New laboratory and workshops built in ESUT Agbani

From every indication, the state government of Enugu are paying good attention to the quality of education in our schools, that is why they have been building newer school infrastructures like this laboratory which is at the final stages of completion and some other buildings which I will post later. Education is the key to a better tomorrow. Enjoy the pictures.

Why are they building houses inside IMT campuses?

I don't understand why so many of the plots of land surrounding most of IMT Enugu are being built on.  There seems to be serious allocation of the plots of land in and around the places we knew as the premises of former ASUTECH, former ESUT,  and presently IMT main campus in Independence layout Enugu.  Is this going to become another Liberty estate carved out from old Rangers training grounds?

Queens Secondary school, Enugu.

This is Queens secondary school in New Layout Enugu,  this school is the alma matta of so many important ladies in the east of Nigeria.  This school needs a total revamp. The front clearly shows that a lot of work is needed here.

The need for improved school infrastructures

There is a need by governments of developing countries to invest more in education,  especially on educational infrastructure like school buildings where students study even in the face of a growing population of people. It is heartbreaking that some students in developing countries study in an atmosphere of dilapidation. Visit most schools, the story is the same, the provision and maintenance of strife schools is always neglected.  Examples abound of schools operating under trees, students sitting on the floor to study and pupils reading in classrooms which are not better that a refuse dump.

This is why it is commendable, the efforts of some governments who go out of their way to allocate a size able chunk of their budgets to build new school buildings. These governments build institutions of learning that is both habitable and accommodating as a place to acquire knowledge. If we are trying to improve human dignity, we should train young people to appreciate the beauty of environments, but how will the human mind develop in an atmosphere of squalor, a squalor imposed on the system because the government continues to pay lip service to the responsibility of building and maintaining good school infrastructure like good classrooms, science laboratories,  technology workshops and libraries all stocked with modern equipment.

Can you remember your primary school experiences?

So many people find it difficult to visualize how life was when they were younger.  Especially the experiences while in school, usually in primary school.  Can you remember those formative years of your life and who your friends were? What were your expectations then, were you quiet or stubborn? Ajebo pikin or Kpako?
