Religious beliefs and it's practice is always a controversial issue,  more so as many different people can read the same religious passage and arrive at different interpretations from the same passage or quotation. This is how different doctrines emerged,  even among the same religious organization. The belief systems are formed from the doctrines, which are derived from different interpretations of the same religious manuscript.

Why are humans always reading meanings into the clearly stated words that makes up the religious manuscripts they met and started using hundreds of years ago. Many people will agree it's because of personal convictions borne out of humans need to adapt their religion to changing situations around them. But do we really need to adapt? The words, commandments and instructions contained in religious manuscripts which are now readily available in most places, translated into different languages for ease of use are meant to serve till eternity. Till the return of the Lord.

It is worrying in christendom, that many pastors, priests and prophets as well as evangelists are now interpreting the bible to serve their immediate needs, which might be completely different from the dictates of the bible. There are different opinions as to why this is so, but many people think it's as a result of our situation and our environment, which seems to support wealth acquisition and preservation. But, how does this blend with biblical dictates of "seeking first the kingdom of God". For some people very high in christendom, purchase of lands, exotic cars and even private jets might come first before the kingdom of God, going by their body language. Well, maybe they will carry all these worldly possessions to heaven when they die.

Issues of political affairs are always divisive and controversial in developing countries like Nigeria,  but when you add a dose of fiery religious preaching into the mix, it immediately becomes Explosive! And that is the tensed charged political atmosphere we have in the east of Nigeria as a result of the fiery new year message from a Catholic priest,  Rev. Fr.  Ejike Mbaka, a native of Enugu state.

But if you thought the new year message was the end of it, then you don't understand politics, this week, a music video was released to the market. In the music video, a musician by the name of BBC took Rev Fr Mbaka to the cleaners. The musician was of the opinion that the man of God has erred and God himself has forsaken him and his prophesies are no longer coming from the holy spirit.
