How to complete your concrete decking in 14 days.
With 2 weeks , a normal decking process could be completed. But I always like to drag it to 3 weeks to be sure I supervise every detail. If I am 100% available in a site and its half of this size as you say, I will supply wood and then move 4 carpenters onto the house. The wood work will take them 3 days to complete, then I move in iron workers on the 4th day with full materials, they spend another 3 days doing the beam and throwing and tying the mat. The electrician comes along and props his biscuits as he inserts the pipes underneath the mat.
The plumber can overlap with the electrician as well as iron workers spending a 4th day returning the mat. The carpenters has to come back and seal the boards, while everyone does a final check for the remaining days. For me, I will be looking hard for faults.
The last day of their work is when I make final arrangements for the cast of the deck. It tames a day for most small houses, and two days for larger buildings.
In summary, 4 workers X 10 days for an average cast.

Supposing I choose to do my decking with wood as against concrete?
This is a thought provoking question, and I am sure there are alternatives to almost everything made by God in this world. But when it comes to Nigerian architecture, we are almost boxed in by the conventional approach that it will seem that its the only way.
I am sure you can build a wooden decking, I am certain because I have walked on a wooden deck built by the colonialists in Enugu back in the days. If you want to pioneer this in the modern day Nigerian scenario, you will have to form a thick skin, refuse to listen to the conventional advice and go all out to seek an alternative to concrete decking. Just remember there will be a lot of obstacles on your way, and the cost comparative to concrete decking? It needs to be seen how much you can save cheesy cheesy
But the major problem I see in this is the sustainability of timber supply if more people wants to tow your line, how much more can our timber reserves be cut down to meet this new demand?
Now, metals as another alternative? I am sure there are metal form works that can replace the use of concrete, but how cheap are they going to be. You may cut a metal import container and it may work, but I am afraid of the increased risk of electric shocks if there is a broken cable. You will have to spend good money on insulation of all cables. I have seen houses built with containers before.

Catching the author of the mystery "writings on the wall" in Port Harcourt
The writings are in many places, almost everywhere, if you are passing through the popular Rumuokoro roundabout, you cannot fail to notice the bold printing of indiscriminate letters, sometimes making sense, but most times talking rubbish. I still wondered why nobody has cared to arrest this man who is clearly defacing the environment. I mounted surveillance to see who is doing this damage, and after three days, my patience paid off as I caught him in the act. Is he mad, or just a little imbalanced upstairs?
That a question for another day.
Burglary proof, Security measure or prison?
You may not fully understand this post except you have been in a detention facility, I mean, we now build detention facilities right in our homes, with our money o! LOL.....
Well, I feel we should all try to make some burglary proofs to look well designed, maybe add a touch of flowery, wavy or artistic twists to the burglary proofs, so we don't end up looking like men behind the bars.......

The Miraculous rescue of an accident victim
Early on Saturday morning, the community of Ninth Mile Enugu was thrown into pandemonium, a big truck was involved in a crash with another truck, leading to the destruction of the cabin section of this pictured truck. The driver has been trapped inside this wreckage until we called in the police and road safety teams who came in quickly. Many people though he was dead due to his position.
People were speaking to the driver to assure him of his safety while the police and road safety men cleared the roads and worked to free the trapped driver, the last pictures shows the freed driver being driven off to the nearest hospitals. We have so many bad vehicles driving on Nigerian roads, with an overload of everything.
Tricycle takes over Asaba Roads
Along most major roads in Asaba, Delta state, like the Nnebisi road, the tricyke, popularly called "keke" rules on the roads. This is another city just taken over by the tricycle operators who use them as a means of transportation for people and goods. Motorcycles has been banned and cars seems not to be able to compete for passengers with the keke operators who load faster, drop passengers quicker and can mingle in the traffic with much ease, as against the taxi, which is usually stuck in traffic. Another reason for the growth of the tricycle is the ease of maintenance, plus the Nigerian terrible roads, which makes is more difficult for a taxi driver to navigate, especially with the bumps and pot holes.
Welcome to Asaba.

Peace Mass Transit Ltd opens a new bus terminal in Enugu
I usually admire businesses ran by purpose driven individuals aimed at growth and profitability. There is one quality which endears commuters to travel with the vehicles from this company, their timeliness. The vehicles here load fast, move without stopping and picking passengers and because of this, a section of the traveling public has stuck with their smooth service and the results has been serious increase in passenger base, more new air conditioned buses and newer routes. The opening of this latest terminal in the choicest part of Enugu urban is an eloquent testimony of the expanding brand of this company.
