Negative effects of a working mother in the present Days.

Before you fly off your handle and go ahead to accuse me of sundry offences, I have to make something clear first; I am not saying women should not work, or hold positions in either the corporate or business world. But i am one of those that frown deeply whenever I see any woman who because of doing one work or the other, abandon their God given responsibilities of family building. Look around your environment right now,  the world is boiling.  From one societal ill or the other, there is corruption, greed, student cultism,  kidnapping or petty theft.  All these are by products of broken families,  families where the parents, especially the mothers have failed in the task of training their young children to become good mannered adolescents,  and later good members of the adult society.

At this point someone will spring to the defence of women, and ask me questions like "what about their dad?". Of course there is always a dad somewhere for every failed young adult. The economy of the world had never been fair, starting from the days of creation, it is this man, Adam that got the tough end of the stick, ordered to roam the fields and make available the food and succour for the family, eve only has to suffer when she gets pregnant.  (hey! what about those women today who choose not to have children?) Have they craftily evaded the first judicial pronouncement to man?

But why do women even need to Work? The opinion of people will always be varied about this,  while some believe women should work to support their husbands and add to the income of the family and cushion the effects of a growingly tough economy, others think women should work as a right,  to earn money to solve their own personal problems,  fulfil their dreams and contribute to the society.  This school of thought believes that the husbands cannot be relied on to provide  each and every need of the family in general, and the woman in particular.

Women are increasingly found in different work places, from construction engineering to oil and gas and even till the armed forces.  Talk about the health and education sectors, the women owns the field. Women are also found in high positions of authority,  from management positions to boardroom positions in conglomerates.  Some women are leading nations, as presidents and prime ministers. But at what cost?

There is no need and no way of counting the cost of women working because of the clear benefits which will always conflict with the opportunity cost. Clearly,  a mother in the home can never be compared to anyone else, including the hired helps and the dad's,  there is this undeniable natural gap the absence of a woman creates in the family.

In conclusion,  I think women should always balance their work and family lives to create an optimal balance which should be a pad of support to the growing child, men should also remember to play their roles of working and providing their wives with the materials to help in family building.  Men owe their families the duties of care, protection, direction and provision.  Women owe their families the duties of support,  tenderness, peace and tranquillity.

What do you think?
